Tan Tran is the Founder and Chairman of the company's Board of Directors and also its President/CEO. He started the company in 2014, bringing more than 25 years of seasoned high-tech industry experience, solid computer hardware/software and telecommunications knowledge, strong domestic and International sales/marketing expertise, and executive management background to his role with the company. He oversees the general corporate direction and strategy for Vemanti Group. Prior to founding the company, he worked at various leading technology companies from 1988-2004 including Western Digital, SMC Networks, Sync Research, Alcatel-Lucent, Veraz Networks, GenBand, Fronde, Metaswitch Networks, and Exalt Communications where he held a variety of management, operations, sales, and marketing roles, covering U.S., Canada, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America markets with revenues in multiples of tens of millions. During that span, he gained expertise in the areas of market/product development, sales/revenue planning and execution for both International and US markets; helping tier-1 service providers and banking institutions develop business and revenue strategies around next-generation network architecture. He co-founded VoiceStep Telecom in 2004 and turned it into a market leading provider of wholesale voice traffic between the U.S. and Vietnam within 2 years. In 2005, he recruited and created a software development center in Vietnam to strengthen VoiceStep Telecom's internal business and operations support systems. From 2007-2012, Tan served as a consultant to banks and financial institutions in Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries on mobile banking, commerce, security, and payments projects and also for U.S. companies looking to establish a market presence in Vietnam. During that same period, he also worked with Vietnam-based companies on U.S. market entry, product deployment, and Corporate structuring strategy. He was featured in local Vietnamese business publications as an up-and-coming tech entrepreneur to watch. Since founding Vemanti Group, Tan has worked to share Vemanti's strategy and vision with customers, partners, shareholders, and investors. His mission is to turn Vemanti Group into an investment and incubation platform for emerging companies with great growth potential, especially in Vietnam which continues to be an economic force on both a regional and global scale. Fred Thiel is a seasoned business executive and leader. He has spent his career creating and helping others create and grow great businesses. Along the way, he has repeatedly driven growth and generated hundreds of million of dollars in shareholder value for investors and founders. He’s a respected and frequent speaker and writer/blogger on the topics of business strategy, value creation, digital transformation, innovation as well as the disruptive waves of technology and how they impact all businesses regardless of size or location. Some technologies that he’s particularly focused on these days include IoT (Internet of Things), as well as predictive, collaborative and autonomous systems. Prior to Vemanti, Fred served as the Managing Partner of the Software IT Group at Triton Pacific Capital Partners, a private equity firm that makes equity investments on its behalf and its investors in lower middle market companies, from January 2007 until the end of 2012. As part of his role at Triton Pacific Capital Partners, Fred served on the Boards of four of its portfolio companies: Custom Credit Systems, LP, an enterprise software company providing commercial lending automation solutions to major banks; DB Technology, LLC, an enterprise content management software company providing solutions to healthcare providers; Assetpoint, LLC, an enterprise software company providing enterprise asset management solutions to major corporations; and Vayan Marketing Group, LLC, an internet media marketing company providing customer acquisition services to major consumer brands. Fred has been a Senior Advisor to Graham Partners, a mid-market private equity firm since 2008. From January 2004 to December 2006, he was Founder and Managing Partner of TechStarter Ventures, a venture capital and technology incubator focused on developing Web 2.0 technologies and social media, human resources and project management related web properties. Prior to TechStarter, Fred was CEO of GameSpy Industries from January 2002 through January 2003. As Chairman and CEO for Lantronix, he led a repositioning, doubled the company’s revenue growth in four years, led four acquisitions and the initial public and secondary offerings. Fred attended classes at the Stockholm School of Economics and executive classes at Harvard Business School and is fluent in English, Spanish, Swedish and French. He is a current member of WPO and former chapter chairman of the YPO California Coast chapter.
